Lesson 3 · Prompt-kit build

The Dork Prompt Kit v1

Give members a reusable prompt system for file notes, partner updates, borrower explanations, Skool posts, and guideline questions.

Scenario

A member has five repetitive workflows but no consistent guardrails, so every prompt produces a different level of risk.

Learner Outcome

The member can use a reusable prompt kit with forbidden inputs, forbidden outputs, source rules, review checklist, and safe failure mode.

Skool summary

Build the first real Dork Prompt Kit: five reusable prompts with no-PII inputs, source rules, and human review.

1

Prompt kit rules

Every prompt starts with the same rules: use only provided facts, mark missing facts, separate assumptions from verified facts, refuse to approve or deny, and ask for cleaner intake when the input is unsafe or incomplete.

2

The five prompts

The kit includes file-note triage, borrower document explainer, partner-safe status update, Skool post cleaner, and guideline question prep. The point is not novelty. The point is repeatable safe structure.

3

Safe failure mode

If the prompt is asked to approve, deny, infer missing facts, cite rules without source text, or process private borrower information, it should refuse that part and return a cleaner intake question.

Homework

  • Run the Skool post cleaner on a synthetic messy post.
  • Run the guideline question prep prompt using pasted source text and missing facts.
  • Delete or rewrite every output sentence that sounds like a decision, guarantee, or unsourced rule.
