Lesson 7 · Capstone file lab

The Decision Matrix: Fight, Fix, Pivot, Pause, Decline

Give members a repeatable way to choose the next move without ego.

Scenario

A synthetic file could be fought with better documentation, fixed by restructuring, pivoted to another product, paused for cleaner proof, or declined gracefully.

Learner Outcome

The member can choose a next move and explain it with proof, risk, and partner-safe language.

Skool summary

The Deal Desk capstone: fight, fix, pivot, pause, or decline using facts instead of panic.

1

Five decisions

Fight when the path is valid and the package is weak. Fix when structure can solve the issue. Pivot when another product path better matches the facts. Pause when proof is not ready. Decline gracefully when the risk or rules do not support a responsible path.

2

Product ego check

The right move is not the cleverest product. It is the path that fits verified facts, borrower goals, investor rules, compliance boundaries, and timing.

3

Partner-safe close

Say: 'Based on what is verified today, the strongest next move is X. If Y verifies, we can revisit Z. If it does not, we should not keep selling a path the file cannot support.'

Homework

  • Run the capstone file through the matrix.
  • Write one borrower-safe update and one Realtor-safe update.
  • Name the fact that would change your decision.
